EMC CX500 SPS Pinout

Question:
Hi everyone, I’m looking for the pinouts for the CX500 SPS sense cable.  I tried using CX300 sense cables but these don’t work.  It’s a cable that looks like an RJ45 connector at one end and RJ11 at the other, and I’d like to make one myself to use on a CX500 SAN I’ve inherited.
Thanks

How can I understand whether the disk is RAID or not through BIOS?

Question:
Hi there;
How can I understand whether the disk is RAID or not through BIOS? I mean does BIOS have any menuitem that points to RAID always?
Regards.

Look at whatever mechanism your O/S [...]

BU Exec 12 and Sony SDX-1100 tape drive

Question:
In the past 2 weeks, BU Exec 12 stopped talking ‘nicely’ to my external SCSI Sony SDX-1100.
Back-up still works. It just won’t perform things like inventory or label – I get either E00081D9 or E0008821 errors.
If I re-start the BUExec Device & Media Service, the tape gets inventoried.
I’m unning this on a Windows Enterprise Server [...]

Question:
I’m trying to expand a RAID array by one drive and apparently I can’t use the GUI ACU provided by HP because on incompatibilities with IE8. I tried downgrading to IE7 but that didn’t work either.  It was suggested I use the ACU CLI version but in checking into the documentation it appears I need [...]

How to Copy Software CD’s for Offsite Backup

Question:
I’ve got about 20 titles that would cost me a few thousand dollars to replace if The Big One hit.   I could put them in a safety deposit box, but that’s not real handy if I have to re-load mid-day.
Any suggestions on how to make copies of them?
Thanks!
Solution:
make ISOs of them and keep the ISOs [...]
