Lotus Notes 6 Client cannot be displayed on Windows Server 2003 RDP (Remote Desktop)

Question:

Hi All,

I’ve successfully installed IBM Lotus Notes 6.5.2 client on my Windows Server 2003 Std. x64 R2 SP2, but when when I execute it by double clicking the file in Desktop it doesn’t show up anything ?
after the loading logo then nothing appears :-|

FYI: this is clean install of Windows VM and I also notice that on the physical Windows Server this also happens and the only way to see/use it is through direct console access (in the server room).

Does anyone know what’s happening here ?

Cheers,
JJ

Solution:

Hi JJ,

I am not sure is Notes 6.5.2 x64 aware.

And according to this:

http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=0&q1=1110541&uid=swg21110541&loc=en_US&cs=utf-8&cc=us&lang=en

“…Windows 2003 x64 Edition requires Domino 7.0.1 and higher.”

The following document also suggests this:

http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=463&uid=swg21233872

While there might be hacks to workaround this, you might find it easier to simply change your VM to 32bit?
