OWA > ISA > PIX > Exchange
Question:
OK – Ive not touched ISA since v 2000
I have a client that has a PIX 515E with a DMZ on it – they want to put an ISA server in the DMZ and publish OWA on the ISA server (Exchange is behind the firewall)
Yes I know its easier to secure OWA with SSL and port forward that but the client wants to do it this way.
The only info I can find is on creating DMZ’s on the ISA server which is obviously no help.
So who has done this in the past? or has any info on it – Im happy with Exchange Im happy with PIX, but throw in ISA in and confgure it like this Ive not got a clue?
Solution:
Have you not seen Shinder’s book on ISA?
I think you are trying to do the third option in this article…
http://www.isaserver.org/tutorials/2004isapixdmz.html
Be careful to read past Shinder’s rants on using the PIX – he does tend to think ISA is the only firewall that you actually need, and if you ever meet him or get on a list with him, don’t try arguing…
Simon.
