Problem with Drop-Down Menu

Question:

Hello again,

I have another question today.

I’m trying to create a drop-down menu.  There’s “Portfolio” button in Main menu.  When it’s rolled-over, the drop-down menu appears with three more buttons.  To make the drop-down menu disappear when it’s rolled-out, I have created an invisible button.  I assigned an action to the button so it will go to one frame before the drop-down menu apears.

Everything seems to work.  But the problem is that when my cursor moves from “Portfolio” button down to those three buttons in the drop-down menu, the drop-down menu disappears so I cannot click on those three buttons.  What am I doing wrong?

Can someone help me with this?  Thank you!

Solution:

Kokko,

What if you made the invisible button on a layer below the drop down menu. Then, make the button bigger in all dimensions and give it rollOut code that goes to 72. If the invisible button is a bit bigger than the other button it will be a bit of a buffer. The mouse will have  to pass through and then exit to go anywhere else.

Just a quick idea, let me know if it works.
