System32 folder opens at startup

Question:

I have a PC that opens the System32 folder at startup.
•      Dozens of worms, viruses, and Trojans, and bad registry entries were purged with System Restore disabled
•      I checked the registry settings according to Microsoft Knowledge Base article #170086 but there was nothing that needed correction (in fact, there are no entries at all in Current Version/Run).
•      I used msconfig to uncheck all startups
•      I ran HijackThis! and found nothing unusual (all System32 files were removed as a precaution)
•      Searched the registry for an SB Audigy 2 startup key of /L:ENG but was not found
•      I ran MS Autoruns but found that to be intimidating because of the couple hundred entries which 99% of them were System32 files
•      I used Kellys Korner VBS tweak file but it stated that it could not find the registry keys (whatever they were..)
•      Even went to Q_21876386.html and used SmitFraudFix 2.131, no good

Anybody have an idea?

Solution:

Once you have the indicated key open in Regedit, click on it in the left pane (that is, click on the last subkey, “run”) then open the File menu and choose Export Registry File.  (The correct menu and menu item may not be exactly accurate — I’m running WinME right now and operating from memory.)  Then open the reg file in Notepad, and copy and paste here…
