Question:
hi, i just got a new hdd from vendor, and im installing win xp home, fresh from almost perfect, no scratch, no smudges cd-rom. the setup begins blue screen, starts up, then gives the above error. “the file dmboot.sys is corrupted. press any key to continue”
ideas?
marc
Solution:
I researched this error all signs to bad ram. I would try only leaving one stick in if you have multiple.
