why won’t cisco 1231 autonamous (FAT) AP negotiate trunk and carry SSID VLANs?

Question:
I have a 1231 (our of the box) which is actually the 3rd 1200 series AP I’ve tried this on. It will only negotiate an access port when the switchport is set to dynamic desirable. when setting to trunk, I lose the AP alogether. When I look at the guest-wireless vlan traffic, there is none on the uplink to the switch. Wireless clients obviously can’t dhcp either. why only access mode? I thought it requried trunk to carry vlans for ssid’s and I see no config options in AP to force that side (BVI) to trunk. Anyone know how to tinker with these things? Thanks hugely!
stretched silly admin.
Solution:
Can you post a config of the switch and the AP please?
